- Rate basis
- Amount = area × (rate per 1000 sq ft ÷ 1000); the rate should come from a soil test recommendation, not from pH alone.
- Liming material
- Enter the rate for the specific liming material your soil test recommends (calcitic, dolomitic, pelletized, etc.) — different materials have different neutralizing values.
- Soil test required
- Lime requirement depends on buffer pH, texture, and crop — do not estimate from soil pH alone.
