Assumptions & Conventions
- Layout mode
- Linear run: plants = floor(run length ÷ spacing) + 1 (includes both endpoints). Area: plants = floor(area ÷ spacing²).
- Mature spacing
- Use the mature spread spacing for your species; planting too close causes crowding as plants grow.
- Estimate
- A geometric estimate — adjust for site access, setbacks, and species-specific planting patterns.
